IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS
Inner West Business Community Services (IWBCS) with the support of the local Inner West business community will host Christmas for Kids 2007 featuring Guy Sebastian on Saturday 15th December 2007 12pm to 9pm.
Christmas for Kids, being held within the famous Leichhardt Oval, and will offer a range of spectacular fun rides, a wide variety of food stalls, gift stalls, roving magicians and jugglers etc as well as a local ‘Market Place.’
The primary purpose of Christmas for Kids 2007, and the fund-raising activities that surround it, is to support local social welfare programs run by St Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, local women’s refuge homes and DOCS including providing Christmas food hampers and gifts for families and children in need living in our local community.
The event includes 9 hours of live entertainment that will include:
CAROLS BY CANDELIGHT STARRING GUY SEBASTIAN & THE SALVATION ARMY'S 50 PERSON CHOIR AND A 40 PEICE BRASS BAND FOLLOWED BY A BIG BANG FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Christmas for Kids 2007 is an alcohol free family event for local business and community to come together to celebrate Christmas and is taking place at the famous Leichhardt Oval on 15th December 2007. Gates open at 12pm and the event finishes at 9pm. Entrance is by gold coin donation and patrons are encouraged to use public transport to and from the event on bus routes 445 and 440. Limited parking will be available.
Support is growing for this event as people and organizations commit to the vision of providing support, understanding and financial assistance to local families in need.
We believe there is nothing of this magnitude in our community at Christmas. The event will appeal to families living in the Inner West who would like to add a special sparkle to their Christmas without having to travel very far from home. Given the local community and school involvement as well, we know that Christmas for Kids 2007 will be well supported by the families of the Inner West.
This is going to be a new innovative Community Event of major importance in the Inner West and one that we plan to continue to grow annually.
Key Purposes:
-Create a unique Family Event
-Build relationships
-Create Awareness
-Raise Funds with an aim to alleviate poverty and other social injustice within the Inner West community.
What happens to money raised?
a) Provide food hampers containing Christmas goodies, toys for the children and gifts for individuals who are in desperate need at Christmas time. All goods will be distributed via existing community groups such as The Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, Doc's, local womens refuges, Church's and other local community groups.
b) Any remaining funds will be used in 2008 to work hand-in-hand in providing practical and financial assistance and support to alleviate poverty and other social injustice within the Inner West community via community programs and events.

IWBCS vision is to fund a "Miracle Centre" to assist dis-advantaged women to become self-sufficient in work, home and their community whilst promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women.
